Operating Tech's engineering manager, Jim White, is operating purely on battery power, as they expand their family of Battery Doc products. The Battery Doc, he notes is a fully automatic charger/maintainer suitable for 12-volt lead-acid gel cells. "Highly efficient", he says, "these chargers will safely recharge and maintain your battery peak condition 24 hours a day, 365 days a year." Previosly, he indicates, the Battery Doc Classic was the only model available at 1.25 Amp charging currents. Now, he tells us, the company is adding the Wallmount 2 Amp Battery Doc, a Weatherproof Battery Doc-a fully sealed 2 Amp version- and a mounting rack that will accept up to five of the Wallmount Battery Docs. Some of the features include small lightweight construction, tri-color LED charge indicator, electronically monitored over current protection, battery clips, terminals and plugs included for easy connection and a 5-year limited warranty with all products. The weatherproof unit, he tells us, has been designed for customers that have to charge or maintain their batteries in adverse weather.
